HOSTS Information

The MSD of Wayne Township’s HOSTS program is focused on helping second and third-grade students in reading. Mentors come to HOSTS one hour a week and work with the same two second or third-grade students for 30 minutes each. All the materials are prepared for the mentor, and the HOSTS teacher is always with the mentors during HOSTS to support and assist them.

Time Required:
One hour a week

HOSTS at Rhoades Elementary is in session from 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. (2nd grade) and 10:00 a.m. – 11:00a.m. (3rd grade)  Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Mentors may select the day they prefer.

HOSTS mentors are asked to attend a training session to acquaint them with the HOSTS program and the materials that are used. The HOSTS teacher is always available during the mentoring session to assist the volunteers.
